REDfyah Burns His Own Flame Of Ghanaian Reggae
Reggae singer “Ras Krizz the REDfyah” burst onto the Ghanaian music scene recently quiet recently with his distinct style of the genre. REDfyah is known in private life as Abudu Seidu, he was born in the northern region of Ghana in West Africa where he is the second son of the King of Gonjas in Ghana’s Gonjaland.
If you love traditional Reggae music then TheAfricanDream.net recommends you give REDfyah a listen. The artist believes “commitment, hard work, and perseverance shall always sail one through in as much as one wants to work in order to succeed in life.” These are the foundations on which he hinges the future of his career.
The beginning of REDfyah
REDfyah said his father; King Kurabaso, passed away when he was barely a year old. The situation left him and his older brother to be raised by a very determined single mother who inspired them to be the best of themselves.
“Expressing myself through art was my personal way of escaping all the crazies that one found growing up in my days. I always had a love and a curiosity for Rastafari, Rastafarians, and Reggae music. So it was just a matter of choice that I ended up paying more attention to developing my love for Reggae music.”
As REDfyah became accustomed to the lyrical content of some great Rasta artists, he began to perform on a small scale till Samuel Ababio, aka X’tee; a sound technician heard his soulful-delivered lyrics. Samuel at that point knew there was something about this person that the world needed to hear and see.
The Samuel Ababio connection
“I realized his level of professionalism and vocals were good enough for him to be given a shot at a master’s project rather than not just leaving him to settle for a demo level. I decided to not let him be dissuaded by his lack of finances which was a stumbling block and excuse for not having considered a professionally produced sound” said Samuel about REDfyah.
Soon after these two met, the recording of an album was realized despite the difficulties associated with an artist’s attempt to break into the mainstream. The album “City of Gold” was the result of their hard work. This occurrence which led to REDfyah becoming an inspirational reggae DJ on Winners FM 98.5; a renowned radio station in the Brong-Ahafo region of Ghana.
REDfyah through his hard work and genuineness made the acquaintances of some very notable Reggae musicians in the persons of Shasha Marley, Grammy-nominee Rocky Dawuni, Blakk Rasta, Sheriff Ghali and many others in Ghana. He also performed alongside some of these artists.
Meeting local and international Reggae giants
Besides Ghanaian greats, REDfyah has been blessed to perform in concerts with well-known international acts such as Luciano (of Jamaica), Ras Kimono and The Mandators (of Nigeria), and IWAN and Blakk Rasta (of Ghana) to mention a few. He has in his young career been featured on several reggae artists’ albums.
This grassroots artist makes it a point to be personally involved in every aspect of his career. As a result, his professionalism and influence can be seen in all sections of his camp and management. His businesslike approach combined with his extreme passion and amazing gift for music are just a few of the things that fuel his authenticity.
Annual Peace concert and the future
