According to Comrade Kalema Rodgers, Chairman of AYC Organizing Committee, the event has consistently provided a powerful platform for fostering unity, innovation, and collective action among young Africans.

“We have been involved in various Pan-African efforts including the COVID-19 fight measures promotion, wealth creation campaigns, literacy campaigns, African integration initiatives support and cultural promotion,” said Comrade Rodgers. AKERC’s estimated 3,500 members across Africa dedicate their efforts towards promoting African civilisation and Pan-Africanism.

“These Pan-Africanists work endlessly to ensure Africa attains her dream of becoming a global power,” remarked Comrade Rodgers on May 18, at Imperial Royale Hotel Kololo in Kampala during the launch of this year’s edition.

This year’s gathering will explore broad topics covering entrepreneurship, leadership, education, health, and technology, with a particular emphasis on how young people can contribute to achieving the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
