‘More Than A Goal’ premieres at Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park
Accra, Ghana – 54 Kingdoms has announced a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park (KNMP), marking a pivotal collaboration that will elevate visitors’ experiences at one of Ghana’s most treasured cultural sites.
This partnership brings the sizzle trailer of “More Than A Goal,” a documentary celebrating Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s visionary use of football to foster African Unity, to the park’s main entrance and welcome center screens.
The upcoming documentary by 54 Kingdoms is in collaboration with production powerhouse, WB Group. It chronicles Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s leadership interests in using football as a unifying tool to gain global respect for Africa’s talents. The film delves into themes of resilience, identity, and the transformative power of sports.
“We’re excited and deeply honored to bring a piece of ‘More Than A Goal’ to the heart of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s legacy,” said Kwaku Awuah, Co-Executive Producer of More Than A Goal. “This collaboration aligns perfectly with the park’s mission, offering a unique opportunity to educate and inspire audiences in a setting that truly honours his memory.”
54 Kingdoms as an award-winning Pan-African creative think tank, is led by Ghanaian visionaries Nana Poku and Kwaku Awuah. Renowned globally as “Storytellers In Fashion™ and Design,” 54 Kingdoms has championed Nkrumah’s vision through a decade of celebrated FIFA World Cup designs, including the acclaimed “Forward Ever Backward Never” collection of 2022.
Mr. Awuah met with KNMP Director, Mr. Edward Quao, on August 28, 2024 to finalize the agreement. Both expressed enthusiasm for the trailer’s impact on visitors and discussed potential plans for a future exhibition highlighting Nkrumah’s crucial role in African football and his vision of continental unity through the sport.
KNMP will play a central role in both parties’ agreement since the park is a historical landmark dedicated to the life and legacy of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first president and a leading figure in the Pan-African movement. It is a hub of cultural, educational, and inspirational experiences, attracting visitors worldwide to explore Nkrumah’s impact on Ghana and Africa.
This partnership ensures that this crucial aspect of Nkrumah’s legacy reaches a wider audience, both local and international. The sizzle trailer started playing at the Park as of October 15, 2024, and will continue until the official launch of the full documentary, anticipated around September 2025.
