Haiti Tech Summit is taking 8th edition to New York
Haiti Tech Summit, a premier gathering of innovators and leaders, is taking its 8th Annual Haiti Tech Summit (Diaspora Edition) to New York City, United States, on September 27, during the United Nations General Assembly Week.
The summit is anticipating a gathering of 300 leaders from around the world to tackle humanity’s most pressing challenges through technology. It is organised by Global Startup Ecosystem (GSE) in conjunction with IBM Cloud, AWS, and the Haiti Tech Foundation. The event will be held at the Hilton Millennium Plaza Hotel, New York One UN Plaza, NY, USA, 10017, from 11am – 3pm EST.
Described as the “Davos of the Caribbean,” the Haiti Tech Summit has established itself as a central point for entrepreneurs, investors, pioneers, and creatives seeking to drive positive change through technology.
“During the 8th annual edition of Haiti Tech Summit, the program will feature major influencers in the tech and business sectors to exchange ideas of innovation and impact that can truly be applied to Haiti and emerging markets that are working towards building tech hub communities of prominence,” emphasised the organisers, in a press statement.
The tech summit has a track record of convening thousands of innovators and leaders under one roof. This year’s edition according to the organisers promises to be no exception, with a diverse range of speakers, panelists, and exhibitors set to share their insights and expertise.
It will build on its legacy of featuring high-profile headliners, that had included Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, investor Ben Horowitz, and Tim Draper, who has backed successful ventures like Skype and Hotmail, as well as Haitian President Jovenel Moise, actress Vicky Jeudy from Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, and top executives from Google, Facebook, Airbnb, and Uber.
It has lined an exciting program of panel discussions, technology expos, and flagship debates, focusing on core themes such as Economic Development, The Future of Work, Cyber Society, Black Futurism, Career Development, Jobs of Tomorrow, Cities of Tomorrow, Healthcare for Humanity, Future of Work, Innovative Capital & Investment, Fintech, Artificial Intelligence, and Beyond Earth (Space technologies).
Prior to its 8th edition, the summit will engage over 1,000 stakeholders from around the world through its monthly virtual “Stakeholder Dialogues” series. These discussions will focus on exploring ways the diaspora and Friends of Haiti can collaborate to create a brighter future for the country during these challenging times.
