Global FM Radio Seminar opens in Ho, Volta region
A two-day seminar on the fundamentals of radio broadcasting is currently underway at Global FM 105.1 in the Volta Region of Ghana.
The station which was launched in August 2016 aims at becoming one of the most competitive media houses in the Volta Region and beyond.
The seminar is being coordinated by ace sports journalist and broadcaster Yaw Ampofo Ankrah who is using the platform to mark his 20th anniversary in radio and TV broadcasting which began in 1996 with Sunshine Radio in Ghana.
Yaw tells TheAfricanDream.net that: “I am always humbled to be called upon to share my experiences. In fact it offers me an opportunity to learn and keep abreast with media and communication trends. God willing, this sort of setting can be replicated in other regions across Ghana.”
Yaw has also practised at premiere Ghanaian news outlets like Joy FM, TV3, Metro TV, Atlantis Radio, YFM, ETV, Rainbow Radio, Radio XYZ and the globally acclaimed British Broadcasting Corporation. At present Yaw is an anchor with South Africa’s Supersport.
The orientation course was brought to an opening by the former Volta regional director and renowned educationist Mr. Emmanuel Keteku. Addressing the participants, Mr Egypt Kobla Kudoto a consultant for Global FM advised that they take the radio industry as a business with all seriousness, dedication and passion.
