The Embassy of Ghana in Washington, DC, hosted the official launch of the Diaspora Property Expo in the United States (U.S.) on Wednesday, January 22. The event’s goal is to connect Ghana’s real estate market with the thriving Ghanaian Diaspora in the U.S.
Diaspora Property Expo 2025 (DPE2025) was launched under the theme “Gateway to Ghana: Unveiling Opportunities for Global Diaspora Investors,” with the main event, which is anticipated to take place at the World Trade Centre of Greater Philadelphia, happening from March 21-23 this year and is also expected to head to Canada where it will be managed by Mr. Julz Ossom, CEO of Aim2Impact.
Diaspora Property Investment Ltd., the primary organisers of the event, presented its mission and upcoming plans at the launch. The main event will be hosted in collaboration with the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA), the World Trade Centre of Greater Philadelphia, and the Ministry of Works and Housing in Ghana.
Mr. Abu Osuman, Director of ETIB at Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Paul Cudjoe, Minister of Economic & Diaspora Affairs at Ghana Embassy, Washington DC; Nana Kwesi Atomu II (CEO of Atomu Africa Development Services), President of World Trade Centre Philadelphia; and Mr. Francis Gborglah, Acting Head of Mission at the Embassy of Ghana in Washington DC, joined His Royal Majesty (HRM) Nana Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi VII, Paramount Chief of Abeadze State and Chairman of DPE Board, during the ceremonial ribbon-cutting that officially launched DPE2025.
“The Diaspora Property Expo is not just about bricks and mortar; it is about building dreams, creating sustainable communities, and strengthening the socio-economic ties that bind us as a people. We are here today because of the vision and determination of many individuals and organizations who have worked tirelessly to make this event a reality,” said HRM Nana Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi VII in his keynote speech.
HRM in his talk also praised “the incredible partnerships we have forged with the World Trade Center—Philadelphia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Works and Housing, to name just a few. It is through such collaborations that we can achieve the ambitious goals we have set for the Nkunim Diaspora City and the broader real estate development objectives for Ghana.”
The event will showcase developers with alternate designs needed to accommodate every need and lifestyle, from contemporary flats in the busy urban centres of Accra to tranquil beachside villas in Ghanaian provinces.
A remarkable story of a successful property deal in Ghana was presented by Mrs. Anita Bediako, a US-based real estate and Ghanaian property investor. In order for people to maximise their investments in Ghana, she advised prospective property owners to use the right channels. She also urged them to utilise the platform that DPE2025 offers because it is all-inclusive.
Mr. Sidney Justin Tehoda, Executive Director, Diaspora Property Investment Ltd. (DPI), in his speech agreed that though investing in another country can feel daunting, DPE2025 is however building trust through its four guiding pillars to create confidence.
His explanation for the pillars is as follows: “1. Explore: Discover the best Ghana has to offer through immersive presentations, virtual tours, and first-hand insights. 2. Integrity: Partner with verified developers and stakeholders to eliminate the risks of fraud and ensure transparency. 3. Invest: Access flexible payment plans, financing options, and a trusted ecosystem designed to facilitate seamless investments. 4. Relax: Experience the peace of mind that comes with investing in a system built on trust, credibility, and a shared vision for growth.”
The DPE2025 main event will include a networking reception that will be followed by an exhibition, an investment clinic, and conferences with presentations and remarks from dignitaries, business leaders, and significant figures in the real estate investment field.
To satisfy attendees’ inquisitions on property ownership and investment in Ghana, experts will be on hand to provide workshops and one-on-one consultations on land acquisition, legal frameworks, financing possibilities, and property investment.
Verus Nartey, the Director of Operations at DPI, indicated that scores of developers are expected at the DPE2025 main event. They include Nesta Homes, Lakeside Estate, Signum Development, Waylead Properties, Godkey Properties, Brickstone Properties, and Libi Homes Ghana.
The rest are PS Global Limited, Brix Developers, Melden Properties Ltd, Indigo Homes, Blue Rose Construction Ltd, Devtraco Limited, Elranor Projects & Consults, Dover Company Ltd, Fairfax Realty, Regimanuel Gray Ltd, Trassaco, Kuber Group Africa, I2 Development, Marrita Construction Ltd, Cape May properties and many others.
