Commonwealth 2022: Full list of African teams’ medals
The most successful team from Africa at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games was Team Nigeria.
At the end, they had the most gold medals (12), totaling 35. Nigeria finished the Games in seventh place overall as a result.
Team Nigeria won their most medals in athletics, earning 10 podium finishes, followed by wrestling with 7.
They are followed by South Africa and Kenya, which are ranked ninth and thirteenth, respectively on the standings.
In terms of the teams from the continent, Team South Africa’s second placing stood at nine gold medals as part of a total of 27 medals.

Oluwatobiloba Amusan’s record-breaking performance in the final of the 100-meter hurdles, when she set a new mark of 12.30 seconds, will be remembered as one of Team Nigeria’s brightest moment at the Games.

Ese Brume, who represented Nigeria at the long-jump competition, also made headlines by making a record leap of 7.00 metres.
Five records were set overall, including four Commonwealth Games records and one world record, making it the competition’s all-time greatest record.
Unsurprisingly, Team Australia won the most medals overall—178, including 67 gold—and took first place in the standings.
