Ghanaian rapper, Benjies to premiere his debut EP ‘TRI’
Ghanaian rapper, Benjies has added a third song titled ‘Respectfully’ to his expanding discography, and is ready to release his first Extended Play (EP), titled “TRI.” This was revealed by the artist on his socials, putting his fans on high alert.
In a press release from the rapper’s management, the anticipated EP will be released online on May 17. The “crucial project is poised to disrupt the Ghanaian Hip-Hop scene” with three songs that are a brilliant showcase of Benjies’ melodic rap style.
“It will be a big statement from him as he moves to etch his name as a prominent figure in the industry. The three versions of self on the cover art reflect the EP’s three themes, money, love and mental health,” said his management.
Benjies blends English and Fante, a dialect of the Akan language in Ghana, in his music, and is driving attention in the hip-hop scene with his “melodic raps and silky flows” that translate across cultures. He also fuses hip-life and jazz with funk beats. Alongside his Ghanaian roots, Benjies is fluent in Chinese, and also draws inspiration from his experience in China.
From performing in high school to sold-out venues, Benjies has always had a passion for music. Since the release of his first single On The Go, he has been performing and making regular appearances at industry events across the Ghanaian capital, Accra, and beyond.
“I hope the fans enjoy the vibe as I unravel each version of myself. Lots of heart and care went into making ‘TRI’ a reality and I can’t wait to get it out there and hear people’s thoughts on it,” said Benjies.
“TRI” will be available to stream in all major music platforms on Friday, May 17. Follow Benjies on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
