African Genius Awards opens 2025 nominations

The African Genius Awards (AGA) has opened nominations for its 2025 event, to recognise Africans that have made outstanding contributions towards the realisation of “African self-determination, dignity, and exceptionalism.”

The event invites nominations from individuals who have used their unique attributes, or skills to address challenges or exploit opportunities that impact African societies. Especially in ways that are uplifting, transformative, build the esteem of Africans and inspire them to make significant contributions to the continent.

It also engages African youths that believe in a globally competitive Africa, stating that the “awards are for Africans of all generations.” AGA emphasized that “exceptional skills are needed to emancipate Africa and her people fully,” and has created a platform that will “motivate all Africans towards exemplary performance, but, in particular, African children and the African youths.”

The awards event was developed as a “special project” by Priority Performance Projects (PPP), a firm founded in 2020 by Dr. Sifiso Falala as a multi-layered project facilitation and execution company. The aim of the organisation is to advance development, economic change and growth in the developing world.

According to the firm, developing worlds like Africa are not fully exploiting the resources they have for their own benefits. This led to the launch of the awards ceremony to celebrate African individuals that have made breakthroughs in their various fields as a means to encourage a culture of change across the continent.

Nominations

AGA has clarified that only one nomination per nominee is necessary, because the number of nominations has no significant impact on the judging. Also, nomination is open to the public.

Some of the more direct benefits of the awards ceremony will be the “promotion of self-confidence, self-love, and the attainment of self-actualisation. Some self-doubt and even hatred, in extreme cases, is a consequence of historical victimisation and oppression. African geniuses can inspire hope, and, AGA will go a long way towards reversing the effect and humiliation of systematic self-sabotage,” declared the organisers of the event in a statement.

The awards’ Adjudication Committee Consists of 6 members drawn from various fields of expertise. Verification and research on nominees is carried out by the independent company Plus 94 Research.

A nominee must meet certain criteria in order to be eligible for an award, including problem-solving, global competitiveness, self-love, and patriotism. To be considered a genius, nominees must show that their works are truly extraordinary. To nominate, click HERE.
