Breanna Moore, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) in Philadelphia USA launched the LaBré fashion line to increase economic growth in Ghana through job creation with Ghanaian inspired fabrics.
LaBré employs local artisans in Ghana who hand make all of their apparels. Breanna studied twice in Ghana as an undergraduate at the University of Pennsylvania, while in Ghana she was compelled to create the fashion line. The line seeks to increase economic growth in Ghana through job creation by providing Ghanaian artisans and their products access and exposure to the international market.
The Inspiration behind LaBré
They also seek to primarily provide economic empowerment to women.
The UPenn graduate tells TheAfricanDream.net that some sections of the women population in Ghana who are sometimes disenfranchised served as part of the inspiration for her line which delivers a stylish collection of African inspired apparel. Breanna says “LaBré is committed to promoting heritage and traditional fabrics through modern design by producing compelling fashion forward aesthetic.“
