3Music Awards 2024 in Ghana: highlights and winners
3Music Awards celebrated its 2024 edition with a colourful show at the Palms Convention Center in Accra, Ghana with a renewed commitment to showcase Ghana’s best musical artists, after missing out the previous year.
The winners of the 2024 3Music Awards were announced on Saturday, 28 September, hosted by Jay Foley and Efia Odo. The evening featured performances by Kwesi Amewuga, Knii Lante, Enam, Lyrical Joe, Adina, Sarfo Newman, and gospel acts Nacee and Piesie Esther.
The last time the event was held was in 2022 with Afropop singer KiDi winning the coveted Artist of the Year award for the second year in a row. At the year’s awards, Stonebwoy emerged the big winner, taking home the prestigious Artiste of the Year, and Reggae/Dancehall Act of the Year awards.
Kuami Eugene led with the most nominations this year with 15, followed by Stonebwoy with 12, and King Promise with eight. Black Sherif took up the Hiplife/Hip Hop Act of the Year and Performer of the Year titles, while Olivetheboy won EP of the Year and Breakthrough Act of the Year.
Sarkodie’s “Otan” won HipHop Song of the Year, and King Promise’s “Terminator” got away withViral Song of the Year. South Africa’s Tyla earned African Song of the Year with her song “Water,” and Nacee’s “Aseda” won Gospel Song of the Year.
