2nd edition of YouTube Creators Festival, Ghana introduces free masterclass for female content creators
The second edition of the YouTube Creators Festival Ghana has launched a free Masterclass for female content creators, as part of its commitment to annually recognise and motivate content creators in Ghana.
The initiative will give 50 young women with no prior experience in content creation the practical skills and tools they need to get started as creators.
Participants will be guided through topics like fundamental video editing, a beginners’ production guide, channel construction, niche building, video optimization, SEO, channel branding, and fundamental monetization by experts.
The Masterclass is set to take place at Bluecrest University College in Accra, Ghana, on Friday, November 25, 2022. You can register using this LINK.
Bridging the gender gap
This instructive masterclass will inspire and equip Ghanaian women to explore YouTube content creation and to advance their technical abilities as content creators.
“We are pushing for an inclusion in YouTube Content Creativity. We have realized that most women in this space have not yet explored their potential that much as compared to the male counterparts,“ said co-founder of YouTube Creators Festival Ghana, Samuel Barimah Amoaning, in a press statement.
“Though there are many female creators, the males dominates in terms of growth and recognition,” he added.
Amoaning is optimistic that by guaranteeing that millennials profit from the rapidly expanding digital trend, there would be a drastic drop in the rate of youth unemployment in Ghana.
“Our research and survey shows that they are mostly lacking practical skills and content direction. Knowledge about content monetization, copyrights, video editing, social listening and other subjects are missing mostly. It is also an avenue for us to empower a lot of women in that field” said Amoaning.

An independent convention
The masterclass is one of three events lined up from November 24 – 26. The YouTube Creators Festival Ghana was established to commemorate the impact and efforts of Ghana’s creative content creators.
A road safari excursion will officially launch the festival on November 24. Content creators and influencers will experience an Accra City Tour from inside double-decker Ghana Tourism buses.
The route for the creators will go through the Ring Road Central, Kwame Nkrumah Interchange, Accra Digital Center, Boxing Emporium, James Town, Lighthouse, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Independence Square, and end at ATIC.
On the last day, November 26, notable local and international speakers will participate in a number of sessions focusing on their YouTube success stories, community involvement, channel performance, YouTube revenue, content development, content collaboration, and copyrights.
The event will come to a near ending with the YouTube Creators Awards night to recognise the efforts of top and upcoming creators. It would close with performances from sensational musical arts in Ghana.
